FROM THE PRESS
Mia Algoet maakt realistisch/impressionistische schilderijen, die hedendaags aanvoelen dankzij haar keuze van onderwerp en uitsnede.
Daarbij loopt 'licht' als rode draad doorheen haar werk. Ze haalt haar inspiratie uit de dingen die haar raken: mens en natuur.
Mia Algoet volgde haar opleiding o.a. in het Sint-Lucasinstituut te Gent, schilderkunst en levend model.
Ze nam deel aan diverse wedstrijden, (groeps)tentoonstellingen en veilingen voor het goede doel. Ze werd in mei 2013 laureate in de wedstrijd "de curieuze collectie", met in de jury Lieve Blancquaert, Wouter Rawoens, Philippe Van Cauteren en Michaël Borremans.
